We didn’t come to Himachal for the season. We never left.
Himparadise is run from Prini, a village about three kilometres above Manali, by people who live here through the winter as well as the summer. That is the whole difference, and everything else on this page follows from it.
A software job, and a valley I couldn’t stop thinking about
I trained as a software engineer and worked in tech. I also went back to study tourism, because the mountains kept pulling at whatever else I was supposed to be doing. Somewhere in between the two, it stopped being a question.
Himparadise began in 2016 as a way of showing people the Himachal I actually knew — not the itinerary everyone sells, but the roads, the timings, the small decisions that separate a good trip from a stressful one. It grew slowly, one post and one guest at a time. Nothing about it was bought.
I traded the screen for the skyline.
Today I live on the property in Prini with my family. My number is on every booking. Most of these routes I have driven myself, in most weathers, and the ones I haven’t, someone on our team has.
Four things worth knowing before you book anything
We own where you sleep
Our Manali packages stay at The Sunset Haven, our own property in Prini. Most agencies subcontract to hotels they have never visited. If something is wrong with your room, there is no third party for us to blame.
No middleman, no markup
You book directly with the people running the trip. There is no agent commission built into the price, which is why our rates are final rather than negotiable — there is nothing left to discount.
We are on the ground
Our team is local. They know which road is open, which pass has closed, and what to do about it at short notice. That is not a call centre script; it is people who live here picking up the phone.
Nothing hidden
Volvo, stay, meals, private cab and transfers are all included. What isn’t included is listed in full on every package page, before you pay. Hidden costs are the main reason people distrust travel agents, and we would rather not be one of those.
Himachal, one circuit at a time
We currently run packages across Manali and Shimla, including a combined circuit and a private-cab option from Chandigarh for guests flying in. Dharamshala, Dalhousie, Jibhi, Kasol, Spiti Valley and Leh–Ladakh are being built out.
We add destinations slowly and deliberately. We only sell a route once we have driven it ourselves and know where our guests will stay, eat and stop. That is slower than listing everything at once, and it is the reason we can answer a question about a road at ten at night.
A word about safety
We do not operate an office in Delhi or anywhere outside Manali. Our only location is our hotel in Prini village. If someone contacts you claiming to represent Himparadise from another city, or asks you to transfer money to an account in an individual’s name that we have not confirmed to you in writing, it is not us.
Travel scams are common in this industry and they hurt honest operators as much as they hurt travellers. When in doubt, call the number below before paying anyone.
